UA High School Honor Choir
The University of Arizona High School Honor Choir (UAHSHC) brings together outstanding young vocalists for a two-day musical experience. Participants rehearse with university faculty, take part in electives, and perform in a culminating festival concert.

How to Audition
Step 1: Student Registration
Students must complete the Student Registration Form by Friday, September 5, 2025 at 11:45pm.
- Enter your contact and school info
- Choose a voice part, elective, and t-shirt size
- Submit the $10 audition fee via the online payment form.
- NOTE: Registration is not considered complete until the audition fee is received.
Once submitted:
- Your teacher will be automatically notified and sent a personalized upload link
- You do not need to share your confirmation number — it will be sent to your teacher
Step 2: Teacher Upload
Your teacher will:
- Receive an email with access to the audition materials and online upload portal for submissions.
- Upload either:
- One audio file per student containing all four components (rhythmic sight reading, melodic sight reading, aural recall, and prepared solo), or
- Four separate files
- Suggested File Name: StudentLastName#### or StudentLastName####_Solo
Reminder: all uploads must be received by Friday, September 5, 2025 at 11:45pm.
Step 3: Acceptance & Confirmation
Acceptance notifications sent to teachers by Friday, September 12, 2025 at 6pm.
If accepted:
- Students and teachers receive:
- Event schedule & rehearsal info
- Music PDFs & t-shirt ordering form
- Confirm participation and submit the $35 participation fee by Friday, October 3, 2025 at 11:59pm.

What is the University of Arizona High School Honor Choir?
The Honor Choir is a two-day choral experience hosted by the University of Arizona School of Music. It brings together outstanding high school singers from across the state for an intensive rehearsal and performance opportunity, culminating in a final concert.
Who can Audition?
Auditions & Registration
How does the audition process work?
- Students register first using the online form and receive a confirmation number.
- Teachers receive an automated email containing:
- Audition Packet and Rubrics (Preview of Rubrics)
- The student’s confirmation number
- A link for submitting audition materials
What are the audition components?
- Rhythmic Reading (three 4-measure exercises)
- Melodic Sight-Reading (three 4-measure exercises)
- Aural Recall (nine three-note exercises)
Can students audition without a school voice or choral teacher?
Yes, in cases where the student does not work with a choral or voice teacher, their parent or guardian can proctor the audition.
Is there a fee to audition?
Yes, there is a $10 audition fee. This fee must be paid before 11:59 pm on September 5, 2025 via the online payment portal.
After Auditions
When will students be notified of results?
Acceptance notifications will be sent to teachers by Friday, September 12, 2025 at 6pm.

Logistics & Preparation
Will there be adult supervision?
Yes, each student group is required to be accompanied by adult chaperones.
Where will rehearsals and the concert take place?
All events are held in the University of Arizona School of Music buildings in Tucson, AZ.
What do participants need to bring?
- A sealed water bottle
- Sheet music (duplex printed, hole-punched, and in a black binder)
- A pencil for marking music
- Lunch supplies: sun protection, packed lunch or money for lunch
Can parents, family, and friends attend the final concert?
Yes! The final concert is free and open to the public.
Crowder Hall at 2 pm on Saturday, October 25th.
For Teachers
How will I receive the upload form?
Once a student registers, you’ll receive an email with a link to upload their audition materials. Please check your spam folder if you don’t see it.
Can I upload multiple auditions at once?
Yes, but please take care to name the files appropriately.
Suggested filename format: StudentLastName_Confirmation####.mp3
Is there a limit on how many students can audition?
There is no limit. Please ensure each student completes their own registration form; the confirmation number is essential for organizing the materials.
