UA High School Honor Choir

The University of Arizona High School Honor Choir (UAHSHC) brings together outstanding young vocalists for a two-day musical experience. Participants rehearse with university faculty, take part in electives, and perform in a culminating festival concert.

The concert, Prism, will feature a curated selection of diverse repertoire from multiple cultures and time periods, with opportunities for featured solos and small ensembles in addition to full choir performance. Additionally, the “prepared solo” portion of the audition will be used to select two Distinguished Soloists, who will be featured in a dedicated portion of the concert.

How to Audition

Step 1: Access Audition Materials

Beginning July 24, teachers may access the audition materials, including:

  • Sight-reading instructions and audio prompt track
  • Aural Recall instructions and audio prompt track
  • Prepared Solo guidelines
  • START HERE guide within audition procedures, audio upload instructions, and registration links

For the Sight-Reading and Aural Recall auditions, teachers should record students while they respond to the official University of Arizona audio prompt tracks.

The Prepared Solo should be recorded separately and does not use an accompanying prompt track. Teachers should record each student performing their selected solo according to the Prepared Solo guidelines.

Complete all three recordings for each student, upload the audio files using the instructions provided in the START HERE guide in the audition materials, and then complete this registration form.

If you did not receive access to the audition materials, please request access.

Step 2: Complete Student Registration

AFTER uploading each student’s audio recordings, use the red REGISTER button in the Audition Portal to submit student information and teacher evaluations.

Teachers/Directors may submit multiple students within a single form. The form will prompt identical questions for each student. If desired, additional forms may be submitted later to nominate more students.

For each student, you will:

  • Enter basic student information, including name and grade.
  • Share your evaluation of the student’s:
    • Musical readiness
    • Vocal technique
    • Rehearsal habits
    • Ensemble citizenship

DEADLINE: Friday, September 4, 2026, at 11:45pm (MST / Arizona Time)
