Yani Jiang

Yani Jiang (江亚妮) is a DMA student in Choral Conducting at the University of Arizona, studying under Dr. Elizabeth Schauer. She currently serves as a faculty member at the School of Music and Dance at Jingdezhen University in China. Yani earned her Master’s degree in Choral Conducting from Capital Normal University in Beijing.

She has served as an assistant conductor for the central choir performances at two major national events: the 70th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China and the 100th Anniversary of the Chinese Communist Party, for which she received official commendation.

Yani has received numerous honors, including the Gold Prize in the Professional Division of the Choral Conducting Competition at the China-Europe (Spain) International Art Festival, the Gold Prize at the Beijing Education Commission Faculty Choir Competition, and the Second Prize and Outstanding Conductor Award at the Jiangxi Provincial College Student Art Exhibition. She has also won first and second prizes at various regional choral competitions in Jiangxi Province.

Her academic work includes co-editing two textbooks—Practical Guide to Singing and Choral Training and Classroom Choral Conducting Handbook—as well as publishing two journal articles: Exploration of Multi-Conductor Training Methods for Mass Choirs in Public Square Performances and Interpretation and Conducting Analysis of the Female Choir Work “Thinking of You for 365 Days”. Her primary research interests include choral pedagogy and conducting methodology.
