Dr. He Huang joined the choral faculty at Nanjing Normal University (China) in 2022, where he conducts the University Choir and teaches courses in choral conducting. Prior to his appointment at Nanjing Normal University, he received his DMA in Choral Conducting with a minor in Orchestral Conducting from the University of Arizona. He serves as a member of the expert group, and in this capacity helped design the core course of “Choral Conducting” in the “Collaborative Course of Music Education for the Master of Arts Education for the Master of Arts Education.”
His primary research interests are the comparison of Chinese and Western choral music, conducting pedagogy, and Romantic Partsongs. His writing has appeared in Journals such as Dirigo Magzine and People’s Music. He has served in community and public school teaching positions in China’s Jiang Su and Anhui areas and remains in demand as a clinician, professional chorister, and collaborative pianist. Recently, he became the Secretary General of the University of Arizona Chinese Alumni Club to provide services and assistance to Chinese alumni.
